Balloon Hoax Artist Richard Heene Goes To Jail

If you were under a rock on October 15th, 2009, you missed the worldwide scare regarding Richard Heene’s son being trapped in one of his balloon inventions.    The Wife Swap reality star was trying to market the family for more shows in the future, but the plan backfired.

He now must serve 90 days in jail with 100 community service.  Also, his wife has to endure 20 days in jail, but will not begin her term until Richard is out.  This way their children are cared for in between.

It’s crazy to believe that it cost the country nearly $2 million for everyone to search and provide the ultimate benefits to find Falcon Heene.  So basically each day the two spend in jail they are making up around $20,000 a day.  Definitely makes a person contemplate paying restitution or just spending a few hours in jail.
