Robert Pattinson didn’t attend the Emmys, but he made a surprise appearance at an A-list afterparty.

While Kristen Stewart has been busy sitting front row at Fashion Week in London, Rob took the solo opportunity to hit Jimmy Fallon’s Emmy bash last night in Hollywood.

Most VIP guests—Lea Michele, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and Minka Kelly—came straight from the show and were dressed to the nines.

But not R.Pattz:

“He was wearing a baseball cap and street clothes hanging at the bar,” a guest tells me. “No one even noticed he was there!”

Rob spent most of his night chatting with an older gentleman and managed to avoid the cameras.

Other partygoers were eager to get into more comfortable attire too, and hit up the Havaianas flip flops station, which Jimmy personally requested.

Emily Blunt, Drew Barrymore and Kristen Wiig also made custom sandals and ditched their heels so they could dance the night away.

Also in attendance for the star-studded soiree at Trousdale: John Stamos, Adrian Grenier, Andy Samberg, Melissa McCarthy, Julie Bowen and Jon Hamm.

The biggest issue was that the Jay Leno Show wasn’t leading the viewers into the late news broadcasts.  We wouldn’t blame a solitary soul for switching channels after Jay.  Seriously, who wants to hear about robberies, car accidents, kidnappings, and bad weather after watching Jay?

What does this do for everyone else?  Well, Jimmy Fallon isn’t going to like moving back to a 1am program.  Then of course Conan O’Brian wouldn’t start until 12:05am.  While it all looks great on paper, there are no records of the other two late night hosts agreeing with the issue.  Leno will be back to his normal schedule on Feb. 12th, 2010.
