After news broke that TLC would be bringing down the axe on Kate Gosselin’s show, “Kate Plus 8″ upon its 150th episode, no one was more shocked than Gosselin, herself. But anyone that thinks America’s most famous mom is going away needs to think again.

“Kate is already planning her next career move,” a friend of Jon Gosselin’s ex tells me. “For sure she’s not looking to find a 9-5 job but instead, [she's] looking to start up her own production company.”

Just a few weeks ago, Gosselin told me that she had her eye on producing, saying, “I know when things translate into TV. I’m good at it ’cause I live this life. I have had people come to me and say ‘I have this great idea for a reality TV show.’ I actually, in my mind, can play it out and see it happening … for me it’s like writing a living book and I really love to write.”

In addition to reality shows, Gosselin is also looking to write another book, get into acting and is even interested in having her own fragrance.

“As far as Kate is concerned, she is TV gold,” a friend of Gosselin’s tells me. “What is TLC’s loss will be another networks gain.”

Kate Gosselin has revealed that her heated relationship with her ex-husband Jon is finally calming down.

The mother of eight spoke to People about the current state of affairs with Jon, claiming that her relationship with him has improved since the couple’s very public divorce in 2009.

“It’s just naturally gotten more peaceful, which is good,” Gosselin said. “He’s working now, which is great. He has somewhere else to put his attention, which is good.”

Gosselin previously said in April that she tries to maintain a cordial relationship with Jon, declaring that she is happy to see him moving on with his life.

“The kids enjoy spending time with him,” the former Dancing with the Stars contestant said of her ex-husband. “They wish he would see them more, but as long as they come home happy – and more or less they do – I’m okay with that, so that’s good.”

This contradicts Gosselin’s claims in September 2010 that the children hate being at their father’s house.

The Gosselins finalised their divorce in December 2009 after ten years of marriage.

The mom of eight told Leno, “I can not dance! I want to laugh at myself.” She continued, “It would be a sad sight.”

“I would watch that,” Leno added.

Gosselin spent more than three hours filming a segment for a new show at a diner in Raleigh, N.C., on Tuesday morning. The reality star mom served pancakes and grits to customers at Finch’s Restaurant on Peace Street, according to WRAL.com.

The local news station sent a reporter to the restaurant but she was booted by Gosselin’s bodyguard, who said they were shooting a “test segment” for a future program and offered up no other details.
