Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey, who are enjoying successful careers in the entertainment industry, don’t want their twins to follow in their footsteps.

Cannon has revealed that he is planning to keep his four-month-old babies, Moroccan Scott and Monroe, out of the showbiz.

The TV personality and entrepreneur said that he wants them to strive for ‘something bigger’ rather than just making records and appearing on TV shows.

“I just want them to strive for something greater than entertainment. I’m one of those believers in teachers, professors, heart surgeons. That’s what I’m rooting for. If I could get a scientist, that’d be amazing,” Contactmusic quoted him as telling People.

He is such a minimalist, super detail-oriented and his collections always have beautiful, sophisticated color palettes, so 99% of the time we will just pore over nude shades – sometimes it will be a nude with a tiny bit of pink, a lot of pink or super beige, sheer beige, other times just buff the nail or apply a super glossy, shiny topcoat. I received a call 24 hours before his Fall 2011 show, letting me know that they need a stormy gray nail for the show the next day. It was the last minute but it’s Narciso, of course I said, ‘Yes!’

“The change happened while hair and makeup was chosen,which was really airy, soft and minimal. Narciso envisioned his girl for the season to have a one bit of edginess and the nail was the perfect place to put it. I was honored to be a part of the whole creative process, so I mixed a bunch of versions and we talked about how creamy, how deep, how gray it should be.

“Narciso named the shade, he knew he didn’t want shimmer and we wanted it to be slightly different than all the grays we had seen. It was a really organic collaboration from start to finish and we came up with this gorgeous, sophisticated, perfect granite gray that was completely unique. The moment I knew we had something was when all of the supermodels backstage were trying to grab the bottle and put it in their purse. You know it’s a hit when the models want it because they never want to get their nails done, so it’s a sign! Stormy Gray was a definitive part of the Narciso woman for fall and for him, it was a departure as well.”

Mariah Carey could leave the Universal Music Group by the end of the year, reports have suggested.

The ‘Obsessed’ singer is said to be looking to return to old record label Sony Music in 2012 following completion of her final album under her Universal contract later this year, reports That Grape Juice.

Carey was signed to Sony Music in the ’90s before leaving the label in 2000 following her divorce with its then-record label boss Tommy Mottola.

The news follows LA Reid’s departure from the Universal Music Group to Sony amid speculation that a role on the US version of The X Factor is part of the deal.

Reid released an official statement earlier confirming his move and stated that he is “[looking] forward with much enthusiasm to what the future holds”.

He continued to thank the stars he had worked with, which include Rihanna, Kanye West and Mariah Carey.

It has previously been speculated that Carey could also appear as a judge on the upcoming US version of The X Factor.

Mariah Carey says she was unaware that she was booked to perform a concert linked to Gadhafi’s clan – and she’s embarrassed “to have participated in this mess.”

Carey is among a handful of entertainers who were paid handsome fees to give exclusive private concerts. It was later revealed the people behind those concerts were the family of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, whose country is in an open revolt against him and who faces an investigation for possible war crimes.

This week, Nelly Furtado announced she is giving the $1 million fee she was paid in 2007 to charity; Beyonce said in a statement Wednesday that she donated her fees for a 2009 New Year’s Eve performance in St. Bart’s to Haiti earthquake relief once she discovered the Gadhafi link.

Carey performed in St. Bart’s in 2008, but in a statement released to The Associated Press on Thursday, she said she didn’t know she was performing for an infamous family.

“I was naive and unaware of who I was booked to perform for. I feel horrible and embarrassed to have participated in this mess,” the 40-year-old singer said. “Going forward, this is a lesson for all artists to learn from. We need to be more aware and take more responsibility regardless of who books our shows. Ultimately, we as artists are to be held accountable.”

Carey’s representative, Cindi Berger, would not comment on how much Carey was paid for the performance. But she noted that Carey has donated millions throughout the years to charity, from royalties from her hits “Hero” and “One Sweet Day” to her own foundation, Camp Mariah.

Berger said Carey will also donate royalties for the song “Save the Day,” which she has written for her upcoming album, to charities that create awareness for human-rights issues.

“Mariah has and continues to donate her time, money and countless hours of personal service to many organizations both here and abroad,” Berger said.

The album is not due out anytime soon; Carey is pregnant with a boy and girl, and she and husband Nick Cannon are expecting the babies in the spring.

“That’s news to be,” Cannon, 29, said when asked if Carey, 41, is pregnant.

Carey filed the baby rumors when she dropped out of the upcoming Tyler Perry film “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf” for health reasons.

Carey and Cannon have previously spoken of their desire to start a family. “We absolutely plan to have a family. But we gotta prioritize, because that’s a major, major priority,” Cannon told MTV in January.

Carey’s manager, Chris Lighty, revealed the news on his Twitter page, saying, “Listen Memoirs remix lp February . . . no date set working on target exclusive.”

Swizz Beatz and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart, as well as Trey Songz, R. Kelly, T-Pain, Gucci Mane and OJ Da Juiceman will be featured on the album as performers and/or producers.

“We wanted to do an album that was really personal, and if you love Mariah Carey, you can put it on and listen to it all day,” Stewart told Rap-Up.com.

“But at the same time, if you like the hot Mariah when she’s doing the features, we want to give people that option too, so that they can put on whichever one they choose,” he added.

The title of the remix album has not yet been announced.
