]]> “New Moon” actor Taylor Lautner and country sensation Taylor Swift have reportedly split, according to UsMagazine.com.

“It wasn’t really developing into anything, and wasn’t going to, so they decided they were better as friends,” a source close to Swift told UsMagazine.com. “There was no chemistry, and it felt contrived.”

Fans couldn’t get enough of the same-name duo, who met on the set of their movie “Valentine’s Day” (out Feb. 12th) in October. But their three-month fling was not meant to be.

“He liked her more than she liked him,” said the source. “He went everywhere he could to see her, but she didn’t travel much to see him.”

This break up seems to be going much better than Swift’s split from singer Joe Jonas, who dumped her via a 27-second phone call in 2008, prompting the seemingly sweet Swift to skewer him in her song “Forever and Always.”

]]> Lautner’s girlfriend Taylor Swift is reportedly jealous of his relationship with Twilight and New Moon co-star Kristen Stewart. Sources say Swift, 19, believes Stewart is not committed to her rumored boyfriend Robert Pattinson and actually wants to date Lautner.

“She trusts Taylor but it drives her crazy to see Kristen hanging off him all the time,” says a source. “She doesn’t buy the whole notion that Kristen only has eyes for Robert Pattinson. She believes she’s secretly longing to get her hooks into Taylor even though they’re just good friends.”

Swift, 19, and Lautner, 17, were first linked in October. Swift previously dated Jonas Brothers singer Joe Jonas. Lautner has been linked to Disney star Selena Gomez.

]]> According to reports, Summit Entertainment is set to split the fourth and final installment of the Twilight series – Breaking Dawn – in to two parts. The film company is said to be prepared to offer Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner substantial raises to reprise their roles.

Summit will also bring back New Moon and Eclipse director Chris Weitz to head the films.

Meanwhile, the third Twilight film Eclipse is due out in theaters June 20, 2010.
