James Cameron’s Avatar Close to #2 All-Time Gross: Grabs #1 Spot For Pirated Movies
The hysteria around James Cameron’s the Avatar continues to soar as its reached 1.1 billion in sales. It just became the 3rd biggest worldwide movie moneymaker passing Johnny Depp’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. Over the course of the next week we’ll probably see the Fantasy/Sci-Fi phenomenon pass The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King for 2nd place.
When this happens we will see James Cameron with both the #1 and #2 all-time grossing movies. The other? It was Titanic back in 1997, which earned $2 billion. However, the movie is also losing all kinds of money due to online piracy methods according to Torrent Freak. It’s believed that around the first week there were around 900,000 downloads of the movie.
Can you imagine if each one of those downloads had one, two, or maybe entire families going to the theaters instead? It might be safe to say that Titanic would already be in jeopardy of its long standing mark, but either way Cameron is still #1.

It’s really a tough fight to combat piracy and without doubts James proved the wait for all these twelve years was no waste and really took us to the skies. Let’s see away from privacy, is this movie poising to become all time grosser, so far next only to Titanic. (hope will surpass The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, anytime soon)
Even the people that download movies should see this one at the cinema. Without the fancy 3D effects it’s only half the fun
