Mel Gibson is set to make a cameo appearence in the sequel to The Hangover following recent controversies surrounding his private life. The actor was recently dropped by Hollywood agency William Morris Endeavor amid allegations of domestic violence after taped phone calls of him ranting at his estranged wife Oksana Grigorieva were made public.
According to MTV News, Gibson is now confirmed for the role which he hopes will help relaunch his career.
The actor was not the only troubled star considered by Hangover producers, with director Todd Phillips recently explaining: “We are going to try and get Tiger Woods for the second one… help him regain his image.”
Gibson’s cameo follows that of boxer Mike Tyson in the first Hangover movie.
The film see the original movie’s leads, Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha and Ken Jeong all returning, and will be released next year.
