Robert Downey Jr. Wins Globe for Best Comedy Performance

Robert Downey Jr. won a Golden Globe for his role in Sherlock Holmes, and got on stage and told the audience, and the world, that he had no one to thank. He was kidding, of course, but it made for an entertaining acceptance speech.

He said: “I don’t have anybody to thank. I’m certainly not going to thank Warner Brothers… They needed me! Avatar was going to take us to the cleaners. Without me, they didn’t have a shot!”

He also said he shouldn’t thank his wife, “because I could be bussing tables at the Daily Grill right now. What a gig that would be.” What a character!
